Concerto
Demonstration Version

Concerto is a MIDI sequencing package. It allows you to compose music and store
it in the computer or on disk. There are numerous methods of entering music and
editing it, for instance there is a Score Editor, Drum Machine, Grid Editor,
Step-Time Editor, Event Editor and you can also record in real-time as you play
the notes on your MIDI keyboard. Concerto provides a whole host of options
which make handling the song easier. There are many editing options such as
Transpose, Search/Replace, ReMap, Block Operations, Fill, Force and many more.
Peek around this demo to see what else there is.
This demo comprises of the colour version of Concerto with just the Save
options and a few other options taken out. Other than that it is the complete
program. The Concerto package costs £39.95 and is available from:

The actual package contains versions for both colour medium resolution and
monochrome high resolution. Programs are also supplied for converting between
MIDI File format songs and Concerto songs and there is also a sample drum kit
construction program which uses the enhanced sound of the STE/TT. Concerto will
run on any ST, STE or TT with 512K memory or more.
Using this demo...
==================
> Boot your ST up into medium resolution.
> Locate the file "CONCDEMO.PRG" and double-click on it from the Desktop to
load it in.
> A few seconds later, the Main Window will appear with some information about
Concerto on it. Click on the "Ok" button in the top left of the Dialogue to
make it disappear.
> Move the mouse pointer up to the "File" pop-down menu at the top of the
screen and select the option "Load Song" from the list of options which will
appear.
> Using the GEM File Selector which will appear, find and load the song called
"F_S_BACK.SNG". A few moments later the Main Window will appear again.
> Click on the "Play" button at the bottom of the screen. This is the button
which has a single right-pointing arrow on it. It will hi-light and the song
will begin to play.
> Now click on the tab marked "Score" near the top of the screen to bring up
the Score Editor. You can now watch the song as it plays.
> Now experiment to see what else is in there!
